Description: The spirit of the Olympic Movement will roll into El Dorado Hills, as the El Dorado Hills Bowmen host a “Try Archery” event in celebration of Olympic Day 2017.

EDH Bowmen’s celebration will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 24 at the Bowmen’s Archery Range in El Dorado Hills. The club’s Vice President of Tournaments and Events and Head Archery Instructor, James Myers, will kick off the event with a short tribute to the Olympic Spirit, and an overview of the regions premier, volunteer run, public archery range. The event will continue with opportunities for participants to meet members of the decorated Wilderness Golden State Junior Olympic Archery team, local archery experts, community organizations, and will provide participants with an opportunity to try their hand at archery, no equipment or experience necessary!

“We are excited to take part in Olympic Day and inspire kids of all ages in the El Dorado Hills community,” said Kevin A. Loewen, General Manager, El Dorado Hills Community Services District. “El Dorado Hills CSD is proud to partner with the El Dorado Hills Bowmen club in support of the Olympic Movement and encourage everyone to lead healthy, active lives.” The CSD Staff will be at the event, providing additional fun & information about opportunities to connect with the local El Dorado Hills community.

The El Dorado Hills Bowmen “Try Archery” event is one of nearly 2,000 events taking place nationwide during the month of June. This is one of only thirty archery focused Olympic Day events, providing the local community with a family-friendly activity, where you can meet decorated Junior Olympians, community officials, and experience archery first hand.

Around the world, more than 160 countries take part in the annual celebration. Olympic Day, created in 1948 to commemorate the birth of the modern Olympic Games, focuses on the Olympic values and ideals such as fair play, perseverance, respect and sportsmanship.

We are actively seeking additional participation from the local El Dorado Hills and regional archery community.
