Introduction

Welcome to the official web site of Access Sacramento, community media for Sacramento County! With so many great stories to tell and more than 4 million visits per year, bookmark this site and check back for the latest on all our region’s many activities and opportunities. We are “making a difference, one story at a time” and we invite you to join your neighbors and become a “digital storyteller” here at Access Sacramento. All the tools and training are here to help you “voice” or to promote the mission of your organization reach a potential audience of 265,000 Sacramento County households. Want to find out more?

• Go to our Program Guide for the latest programming details for television and radio cable channels 17 and 18 and our community radio “The Voice” of Sacramento.
• Make your own programming at little or no cost. Check the schedule for a convenient training workshop teaching you how to make your own radio or television program or how to use the internet more effectively. The use of the equipment and cablecast of your finished program are free to Access Sacramento members.
• Learn more about the wonderful volunteers and staff, your neighbors and friends, who provide the 5,000 new programs cablecast on our channels each year. Tell your story and share it with your neighbors. More speech is always better…join us!
• Meet our Board of Directors, fifteen community volunteers who take the responsibility as leaders to provide stewardship of our resources and channel capacity. Provide your input and help them guide our community-based organization.
• Donate your time and money to this worthwhile endeavor. Find out how to help build our “electronic neighborhood” by volunteering your time and creativity or by making a tax deductible donation “on-line” to our 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
• Visit our Community Calendar frequently to stay current on upcoming events around and about our region. Post your own event information for free!
• How about becoming a digital “filmmaker” and see your “movie” on the big screen at the Crest Theater? Join the thousands who have enjoyed “A Place Called Sacramento” Film Festival in front of and behind the camera.

Welcome to Access Sacramento, “giving voice to the thoughts, dreams, opinions and community events” that make Sacramento County such a great place to live.
