A Franklin High School student’s video for the Sacramento Area Sewer District was named the first place winner today in Access Sacramento‘s 3rd Annual High School Public Service Announcement (PSA) competition.

Franklin High School senior Jacob Sullivan’s video earned top honors, a cash prize of $100 and a cable television premiere of his video and live interview during Access Sacramento‘s Live Wire program on Wed. May 3, 2017.

The video called “F.O.G. Tips” helps explain how making simple changes by keeping Fats,Oils and Grease out of sinks can help keep drains clear and the sewer system operating efficiently.

Another Frankilin High School Student won 2nd Place; Erika Rylander’s PSA “Trash ’em, Don’t Flush ’em” was also for the Sacramento Area Sewer District. Her runner-up finish includes a $50 cash award.

 

 

Access Sacramento selected two videos for a tie in 3rd Place.  Sacramento New Technology High School student Francisco Torres did a fast-motion video called “Drawing our Issues: Stop the Clog” for the Sacramento Area Sewer District.

Franklin High School’s Mathew Jacinto did a PSA titled “In a Second” for the California Office of Traffic Safety.  Each earns a 3rd Place Certificate and a $25 cash award.

 

 

The judges from the three non-profit clients also selected seven other finalists who will all receive Certificates of Merit. They are:
