"A Celebration of Children, Diversity and Culture".

Location: Sacramento Museum Day Celebration At Sojourner Truth Multicultural Art Museum, 2251 Florin Rd
Description: Now in its 14th year, a record Twenty-Eight (28) museums from the greater Sacramento area will be offering free or half off addmission for the Annual Sacramento Museum Day Celebration.

This event is presented my the Sacramento Association of Museums (SAMS), and proudly supported by Umpqua Bank. Sacramento Museums Day takes place Saturday February 4th, 2012 from 10:00 a.m to 4:00 p.m. All museums close at 5:00 p.m. with the last guest admitted at 4:00 p.m.

This Year, at Sojourner Truth Museum our theme will be "A Celebration of Children, Diversity and Culture". This theme will welcome and embrace all cultures and all art forms (visual and performance) from five local schools. All art forms will relate to the theme.

Museum's Day Celebration is scheduled for February 4th, 2012, from 10:00am to 4:00pm. We expect an attendance of 2000 and admission is free.

There will be lots of activities for everyone: children/youth exhibit, cultural performances, cultural food demos, face painting, story-telling, cultural art activities, and an "All Around the World" fashion show facilitated by Phoenix Park Community.
The participating Schools/Community Organizations are: Parkway Elementary, Yav Pem Suab Academy, Rosa Parks Junior High, Alice Birney Waldorf, Phoenix Park Community and Family Roberts Development Center.

Special activities will include:

• Cultural coloring activity table
• Make your own Diversity Handmade pillows
• Diversity Gardening Project
• Make Diversity Fans
• Make Shakers/Drums
• Make African Crowns
• Make Diwali Diyas (Candles)
• Paint a Diversity Mural project
• Face Painting
• Join in on Wii African Dance performances


Food will be available for a very low price of $3.00
( Barbecue Hot Dog, Chips and Drink)
