Access Sacramento, through its MediaLab division, was a regional pioneer is developing websites for itself and its members as well as other organizations, primarily nonprofits, in the region.
The first three major websites created for Access Sacramento members, friends and the community were:
- The Access Sacramento website: everything you wanted to know about Access Sacramento.
- The “Official Sacramento Homepage”: every organization with a URL in the area.
- The “Official Sacramento Calendar”: a complete, and searchable, calendar of area events.
Later, through the good works and support of such organizations as the Education First program of PacBell and the Sacramento County Office of Education, in particular, the Access MediaLab began building websites for area nonprofit organizations. This was, in a manner of speaking, an incubator enterprise for the region as many organizations later took over the funding and administration of their own sites after Access Sacramento got them up and running on the Internet. Including in those activities were:
- American Leadership Forum (Mountain Valley Chapter)
- Centro Guadalupe
- Clinica Tepati
- Family Service Agency (of Sacramento)
- Francis House
- Loaves and Fishes
- Matrix Arts
- Nonprofit Resource Center
- Parent Haven (SUSD)
- Teens ‘n Technology
